ANIMOL | UK THEATRICAL RELEASE
Following its festival run at the Berlin International Film Festival and BFI London Film Festival, ANIMOL will be released theatrically in the UK on 30th October 2026.
Ashley Walters’ feature directorial debut will be distributed in the UK by STUDIOCANAL.
The theatrical release marks the next chapter for ANIMOL following its international festival run, bringing the film to audiences across the UK.
ANIMOL | BFI LONDON FILM FESTIVAL 2026
We’re delighted to share that ANIMOL, Ashley Walters’ feature directorial debut and SLNda’s first feature film, has been selected for the 70th BFI London Film Festival.
Following its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year, ANIMOL continues its festival journey as part of the BFI London Film Festival’s First Feature Competition, where it will compete for the Sutherland Award.
ANIMOL will screen in London on 11th, 15th and 18th October 2026.
Written by Nick Love and starring Tut Nyuot, Vladyslav Baliuk, Stephen Graham and Sharon Duncan-Brewster, the film is a coming-of-age drama set within a young offenders’ institution.
We’re excited to bring ANIMOL home to London and share the film with audiences at this year’s festival.
ANIMOL | 76TH BERLIN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
ANIMOL, the feature directorial debut from Ashley Walters and SLNda’s first feature film, will have its world premiere at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival, taking place from 12th–22nd February 2026.
Written by Nick Love and starring Tut Nyuot, Vladyslav Baliuk, Stephen Graham and Sharon Duncan-Brewster, ANIMOL is a coming-of-age drama set within a young offenders’ institution.
The film has been selected for the festival’s Perspectives section and will compete for the Best First Feature Award, marking a major milestone for Ashley as a filmmaker and for SLNda as a production company.
SLNDA | BBC SMALL INDIE FUND
SLNda has been selected for the BBC Small Indie Fund 2023.
The fund supports the growth and development of independent production companies across the UK, providing access to BBC commissioners alongside development and business support.

BOYS | EDINBURGH TV FESTIVAL NEW VOICE AWARDS
BOYS has received two nominations at the Edinburgh TV Festival New Voice Awards, with Ashley Walters shortlisted for Debut Director and Jerome Holder shortlisted for Debut Writer.
The nominations recognise Ashley’s first work as a director and Jerome’s debut as a screenwriter on SLNda’s first production.
We’re incredibly proud to see their work recognised alongside some of the UK industry’s emerging talent.
BOYS | BROADCAST AWARDS
SLNda’s debut production BOYS has been shortlisted for Best Single Drama at the 2022 Broadcast Awards.
Directed by Ashley Walters and written by Jerome Holder, the short film was produced as part of the Sky Arts ShortFLIX initiative.
To see our first production recognised alongside some of the year’s leading television work is a significant milestone for everyone involved in the film.
SLNDA | CHANNEL 4 EMERGING INDIE FUND
SLNda has been selected by Channel 4 for a Discretionary Award through its Emerging Indie Fund.
The fund supports emerging independent production companies as they develop relationships with Channel 4 and build new ideas for the broadcaster.

SLNda has been selected as one of Pact’s Future30 independent production companies.
Created to mark Pact’s 30th anniversary, the programme supports 30 emerging UK indies identified as having the potential to become future leaders within the sector.

BOYS | EDINBURGH TV AWARDS
BOYS star Hector Abbott has been shortlisted for Breakthrough Talent at the Edinburgh TV Awards.
Hector made his screen debut in BOYS, SLNda’s first production, delivering the film’s central performance alongside an ensemble of emerging young actors.
We’re incredibly proud to see Hector and his work recognised by the Edinburgh TV Festival.

SLNda’s debut production BOYS will air on Sky Arts at 22:00 on Wednesday 20th January 2021 and will also be available to stream on NOW TV.
Directed by Ashley Walters and written by Jerome Holder, BOYS marks Ashley’s directorial debut and the first produced project from SLNda.
SLNDA | ROGUE STATE + FILM4
SLNda is developing an original feature film in collaboration with Film4 and Nick Love’s production company, Rogue State.
The project marks SLNda’s first feature development with Film4 and the beginning of a new creative collaboration with writer and filmmaker Nick Love.

SLNDA | JEROME HOLDER + SKY STUDIOS
SLNda is in production on its first short film, BOYS, directed by Ashley Walters from a screenplay by emerging writer Jerome Holder.
The film is being produced with the backing of Sky Studios and marks Ashley’s debut as a director.
BOYS also begins SLNda’s collaboration with Jerome, whose work we’re proud to champion as part of our commitment to developing emerging creative talent.

SLNda has signed a three-project development deal with Sky Studios.
The deal will see SLNda develop a slate of original projects for the broadcaster and marks an important early milestone in the company’s growth.
Development across the first projects is now underway.
SLNDA | ‘PIRATES’ IN DEVELOPMENT
Ashley Walters has revealed that SLNda is developing a television project exploring the UK garage scene of the 1990s.
The project draws on a defining period in British music and culture and forms part of SLNda’s growing development slate.
